I AM SAN ANTONIO
The Ian Mahinmi Foundation has strong ties to several organizations in the San Antonio area, including St. PJ’s Children’s Home, which he currently works with in an effort to further inspire youth to reach their goals and strive for greatness no matter their circumstances. In addition, the I AM Foundation launched the “I AM RESILENT” and the “I AM SUPPORTED” programs to build strong communities and help local business that have been dramatically affected by business closings and lack of PPP funding. The I AM Foundation will continue to partner with organizations and businesses that reflect the foundation’s mission of wrapping are arms around those in need by continue to provide resources and support necessary to build strong communities.

“I AM RELILIENT” COVID RELIEF -San Antonio
Ian Mahinmi of the Washington Wizards and his I AM Foundation are helping frontline workers, small businesses, and those in need in San Antonio who have suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic. San Antonio is home for Ian Mahinmi and his family because they spend the off-season in the Lone Star state ever since his time playing with the San Antonio Spurs. The I AM Foundation’s commitment to building stronger communities is important now more than ever as we re-insert ourselves into our daily lives and recover financially from the crippling effects of the pandemic.
Ian Mahinmi is thanking C-6 Trash Disposal Systems’ frontline sanitation workers who continued to work during the crisis in the Canyon Spring neighborhood by donating $100 VISA gift cards to help with groceries, bills, and other essentials. In addition, the San Antonio Food Bank will receive a donation from the I AM Foundation to help restock their pantries as they continue to help feed the homeless and city youth in San Antonio.
As a special THANKS YOU the foundation provided a Chick-Fil-A lunch at Legends Oak Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for eighty-seven staffers on Thursday, May 21, 2020, in San Antonio. Each staff member enjoyed lunch as a thank you for providing excellent care and for putting their lives on the line by protecting their residents during COVID-19. In addition, gift cards, food coupons were distributed to staffers as part of their employee recognition program.

Lastly, the Ian Mahinmi I AM Foundation has launched the I AM Supported Small Business Relief program to help small business owners who are re-opening their business. Small business owners were given the opportunity to apply for a $1,000 grant to help pay rent, utilities payroll, cleaning, etc. in efforts to help businesses re-open and get back to work.

Their hard work in the community and supporting causes that I support does not go unnoticed, as they are helping the people of Benin, France, San Antonio and Washington get through a very difficult time.”
